RIDE DESCRIPTION

Please note: Although
this is a rain or shine event, we reserve the right to cancel in case of severe
inclement weather.
RULES
-
Horse and rider must register as a team.
Switching on ride day cannot be accommodated.

Every rider must sign a waiver form
-
To qualify for breed awards registration
papers, tattoos or freeze brand must be seen unless the horse has previously
participated

If your birthday occurs after the start of the
yearly series, please continue in the same age division for the entire year

All dogs must be on a leash and kept away from
the food area
-
No horseplay, running or racing in parking or
barn areas
-
Use of alcoholic beverages or controlled
substances prohibited
-
Littering will be not tolerated
-
Horses will be dispatched 10 – 15 minute
intervals, according to their arrival. NOTE: Once you start you do not have to
stay in a group. Spread out for comfort. This prevents the snowball effect at
obstacles.

The last departure will be at 10:15 AM. All
Horses must be on the trail by then.

Safe riding practices are required:
-
All rides must use saddles – No bareback
riding or bareback pads
-
All rides must wear long pants and boots or
high topped shoes
-
Peewee riders must wear helmets – Juniors at
parental discretion
-
Peewees and Juniors must be accompanied by an
adult
-
Excessive speed will be penalized, take your
time on trail.
-
Judges will take your safety habits into
consideration (Loose saddle, dangling straps, etc) We will have a dismount /
remount situation.
-
You may talk or sing to your horse as a
working partner, coaxing and reprimanding will be penalized
-
No more than THREE attempts at each obstacle
unless the judge signals otherwise. No score will be given if you dismount and
walk your horse through.

No ponying another horse through an obstacle
-
No double riding
-
All riders must display their entry numbers to
the judges
-
Any rider caught removing or changing trail
will be disqualified
-
All Judges decisions are final
-
Crops and spurs are allowed. However, Judges
shall not score horses requiring them higher than 9.7 for each obstacle. The
ride should be a pleasurable event for both rider and horse.

BRING A SELF ADDRESS ENVELOPE TO RECEIVE SCORES BY MAIL***
If you must leave the ride early – You are
responsible for collecting any awards you may win. Please have arrangements made
with another rider to take them home for you or pick them up at the next event.
All awards must be picked up by the final event at the end of the year.

WEAR A SAFETY HELMET!
